Antabuse Alcohol Treatment Do’s And Don’ts

Antabuse is often prescribed during alcohol treatment because it really does convince the alcohol not to use. Don’t take just one drink to see what will happen; you WILL get a reaction no matter what.
Don’t think you can drink and just bear the side effects; they are overwhelming and make it impossible for you to consume anything.
Don’t be alarmed if you get a funny metallic taste in your mouth while using it as eighty percent of people experience that.
Don’t take Antabuse if you have a significant history of heart or blood vessel disease or diabetes.
Don’t take Antabuse if you have a history of severe depression, psychosis or suicide attempts.
Don’t take Antabuse if you are taking antidepressants or anti-seizure medications as part of alcoholic treatment for a dual diagnosis
